కీర్తనలు 49వ అధ్యాయము Psalm 49

ప్రధానగాయకునికి, కోరహు కుమారులది. గీతము

సర్వజనులారా ఆలకించుడి
Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

2 సామాన్యులేమి సామంతులేమి ధనికిలేమి దరిద్రులేమి
లోకనివాసులారా, మీరందరు ఏకముగా కూడి చెవియొగ్గుడి
Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

3 నా నోరు విజ్ఞానవిషయములను పలుకును
నా హృదయధ్యానము
పూర్ణవివేకమును గూర్చినదై యుండును
My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

4 గూఢార్థముగలదానికి నేను చెవియొగ్గెదను
సితారా సీసికొని నా మరుగు మాట బయలుపదచెదను
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

5 నాకొరకు పొంచువారి దోషకృత్యములు నన్ను చుట్టుకొనినప్పుడు
ఆపత్కాలములలో నేనేల భయపడవలెను?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

6 తమ ఆస్తియే ప్రాపకమని నమ్మి
తమ ధన విస్తారతనుబట్టి పొగడుకొనువారికి నేనేల భయపడవలెను?
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

7 ఎవడును ఏ విధముచేతనైనను తన సోదరుని విమోచింపలేడు
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

8 వాడు కుళ్ళు చూడక నిత్యము బ్రతుకునట్లు
వాని నిమిత్తము దేవుని సన్నిధిని ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము చేయగలవాడు ఎవడును లేడు
(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

9 వారి ప్రాణవిమోచన ధనము బహుగొప్పది
అది ఎన్నటికిని తీరక అట్లుండవలసినదే
That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

10 జ్ఞానులు చనిపోదురను సంగతి అతనికి కనబడకుండపోదు
మూర్ఖులును పశుప్రాయులును ఏకముగా నశింతురు
For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

11 వారు తమ ఆస్తిని ఇతరులకు విడిచిపెట్టుదురు
తమ యిండ్లు నిలుచుననియు
తమ నివాసములు తరతరములకు ఉండుననియు వారనుకొందురు
తమభుములకు తమ పేళ్ళు పెట్టుడురు
Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

12 ఘనతవహించినవాడైనను మనుష్యుడు నిలువజాలడు
వాడు నశించుమృగములను పోలినవాడు
Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

13 స్వాతిశయ పూర్ణులకును
వారి నోటిమాటలనుబట్టి వారి ననుసరించువారికిని ఇదేగతి
This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

14 వారు పాతాళములో మందగా కూర్చబడుదురు
మరణమువారికి కాపరియై యుండును
ఉదయమున యథార్థవంతులు వారి నేలుదురు
వారి స్వరూపములు నివాసములేనివై పాతాళములో క్షయమైపోవును
Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

15 దేవుడు నన్ను చేర్చుకొనును
పాతాళ బలములోనుండి ఆయన నా ప్రాణమును విమోచించును (సెలా)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

16 ఒకడు ధనసంపన్నుడైనప్పుడు
వాని యింటి ఘనత విస్తరించునప్పుడు భయపడకుము
Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

17 వాడు చనిపోవునప్పుడు ఏమియు కొనిపోడు
వాని ఘనత వానివెంట దిగదు
For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

18 నీకు నీవే మేలు చేసికొంటివని మనుష్యులు నిన్ను స్తుతించినను
తన జీవితకాలమున నొకడు తన్ను పొగడుకొనినను
Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

19 అతడు తన పితరుల తరమునకు చేరవలెను
వారు మరి ఎన్నడును వెలుగు చూడరు
He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

20 ఘనత నొందియు బుద్ధిహీనులైనవారు
నశించు జంతువులను పోలియున్నారు
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
